Sector-based Work Academy Programme (SWAP) is a Department for Work Pensions (DWP) funded training programme designed to support jobseekers regionally.
Our role is to support employers’ ongoing recruitment needs in a hassle free manner – no recruitment fees, free training and an incentive payment for every candidate recruited!
Each individual’s career path is unique, filled with its own set of challenges and opportunities. However, as an employer, you have the power to shape how your employees start their journey, which will ultimately contribute to their future success.
Our programme is broken into simple key stages that will guide your workforce through five essential steps, providing them with a solid foundation to thrive in their respective roles and advance in their careers.
The Pavilion Learner Support team work with jobseekers across the West Midlands to understand their career ambitions, skills and capabilities in order to ascertain the right work opportunities for them.
Our Employer Engagement team support employers across the region to profile their ongoing recruitment needs and to determine skills gaps in vacancies in order to develop bespoke training programmes.
Once successful candidates have been enrolled, our 1-2 weeks pre-employment training will be delivered from our Jewellery Quarter training centre by qualified Skills Coaches.
Candidates will complete a 1-2 week work experience placement where they will receive hands-on experience in your organisation. This is essentially an unpaid induction for the designated role, where each candidate has the opportunity to prove their capabilities and learn the ropes.
All candidates are guaranteed an interview once they have completed their work placement. If you feel the individual is a suitable match for the job role and company, you can simply offer them the position and agree on a planned start date. If the candidate is unsuccessful, Pavilion will work with them to secure an alternative pathway.
There is zero cost for taking on each candidate. In addition, for every candidate you employ for a minimum of 13 weeks (where they work at least 16 hours a week), you as the employer will receive a one-off incentive payment of £500 with no upper limit on how many candidates you employ!
